What is the likelihood of receiving a burn while lighting a gas furnace?
I rent a place and the furnace goes out regularly, it is older but I don't know what model exactly. There's a button you have to push to let a little gas flow, then you light it. One of my neighbors who does it says it might flare up and burn the person lighting it. Is this a common problem?

How do I find out whats wrong with my gas furnace blower motor?
I all ready took out the blower, When I turned it on, the blower would run for a minute or two, but it sounded like it was struggling, then it shuts off. how can I find out what happened to it? I'm all ready guessing that I should replace the blower motor, but I just want to know what happened, and what I can do to find out I have all the tools to do so the furnace is 19 years old if age has anything to do with it. thank you.

I cant find any information about the make or model of this furnace. All I know is it is old. It is a stand alone furnace that sits in our kitchen and blows air directly from it to warm the apartment. Does not use vents through walls to circulate the heat I can not figure out how to light it. Everywhere says to press the pilot switch down after setting it to " pilot" I am assuming that since this is so old it does not have these. Can someone please tell me how to lite this thing?here is a picture of what Im looking at. the back of the furnace is not reachable as it is attached to the wall. imgur.com 2zxAHt.

Dayton gas furnace wont work?
What it is doing is starting up then shutting off but the blower keeps going have to kill power to shut it off .... I notices when it starts up the igniter gets red hot lights the gas but when the blower kicks on it shuts the gas off I have cleaned flame sensor. The led flashes 11 times witch means either disconect jumper wire ..or bad ground .. any help would be appreciated
Gas furnace intermittent pilot light?
I have a Sears gas furnace with a Honeywell intermittent ignition device. When the thermostat asks for heat, the furnace may or may not fire up. When the furnace doesn't fire up, I can get the pilot to light by playing with a hose on the pressure switch. I would remove a hose on the pressure switch and reconnect it sometimes up to 5 10 times until the pilot lights. Each time I reconnect the hose, I can hear the ignition device kick in and try to light. I thought it was the thermocouple but my system does not have one. What could be the problem and what should I replace to get it working properly?
Gas furnace is making a weird buzzing vibrating sound when it starts.?
The 9 year old Bryant gas furnace makes a weird vibrating sound when it starts. I can hear it through the vents upstairs.I was told it may be the bearings in the blower but that is on the bottom and the buzzing sounds are at the top. Once the blower starts the vibrating sounds quits.
Rheem Gas Furnace blower motor doesnt turn off?
Rheem gas furnace blower will not shut offAfter it is done heating, the blower continues.I have set the thermostat to auto.The batteries in the thermostat are fresh.I shut the switch off on the furnance over night and turned it back on the next morning, with the blower motor not running. so then i go and turn the thermostat up and get heating blowing up to temp and turn the thermostat off. the blower motor then shut off a few moments later. after the blower motor shut off i waited 5 minutes and turned the thermostat back up. after a few minutes of heat i shut the thermostat off and the blower motor continued to blow until i flipped the switch on the furnace, i left for work and arrived back at the house turn the furnace switch on without the blower motor turning on and had a repeat of the previous night.I can shut the furnace off with the switch on the furnace. But that is notA good solution,What part is broken on the furnace? relay? thanks
