Is it normal for a gas furnace to click multiple times before it kicks on?
We just bought a house and had 7 year old furnace cleaned and serviced before we moved. Now that we're in the house, I'm noticing for the first time that our furnace clicks 3 6 times before it starts running. Is this normal? My condo furnace only clicked once before it started. Most information I found online addressed furnaces that clicked without turning on or that turned on only briefly. My furnace is otherwise operating properly.
York 80 gas furnace not staying on. Pressure switch error.?
I have a York 80 gas furnace that is 11 years old. Monday morning the furnace would not stay on. The furnace goes through its normal fire up sequence inductor fan on , HSI on, gas on, ignition, blower fan on but the gas only stays on for about 60 seconds, then no gas for about 40 seconds, then repeats for three more times, then I get an error. I am getting the red LED 6 flash error for Lockout caused by pressure switch . I tested the pressure switch this morning and it works resistance goes from infinity to near zero when the inductor fan starts up. I checked for all the usual things suggested on these DIY boards intake filter is clean, exhaust is not clogged, vac hose is clear, checked connections from the switch to the control board.One sort of weird thing is while I was troubleshooting Monday, I turned off the power to the unit to clear the error about 4 times within a couple hours ..and the darn thing started working fine for the rest of the day. However, we woke yesterday to the same cold house. I went up to the attic to find the same error and cleared it a few times and it worked for the rest of the day .and yes the same error this morning, but I was unable to get the unit to work before I had to leave. Obviously something is not right and I can t keep climbing into the attic 4 times every cold morning. any idea s or suggestions on things I need to check? Thanks for any help or advice
I have a gas furnace with blower and ductwork. Does the electric portion of my heating bill amount to much?
My natural gas is free at my apartment well, it's included in my rent . But the electric bill is metered so i have to pay for that, per usage. I am kinda poor, so i don't want to keep my heat too high, but since my gas is free, maybe i can keep my apartment nice and toasty...but how much electric does the blower use? I live in a cold northern state and like i said, i'm poor..so i wanna conserve energy bills.

I have a Carrier natural gas furnace with a LuxPro digital thermostat. When the system comes on in the morning the fan runs the entire time its trying to warm up the house but the burners cycle on and off. After its been off for a bit I hear the igniter come on and as soon as the gas turns on the burners all light immediately and give a nice blue flame. Then after a bit the gas turns off and the fan continues to run. Is this normal? Would the house heat faster if it just stayed on until the temp is reached?
My gas furnace won't stay lit.....sometimes?
I have a natural gas furnace with electronic ignition. Usually, when it kicks on, everything seems to be fine but it goes out a few seconds later. Sometimes before the blower starts & sometimes after. I would say this happens 9 times out of 10, but every once in a while it will work as expected. Any ideas what is causing this? It's a RHeem CLassic Quiet 80.
Gas furnace not working properly?
I have a York electric ignition gas furnace. The problem with it is sometimes it will randomly stop working. I will set the thermostat to a temperature above room temp. Furnace kicks in. Sometimes it will stay on until it hits the thermostat temp and sometimes it will stop before reaching that temp. I notice if I reset the furnace by removing the cover which triggers the safety switch and put the cover back on it will usually start working again. Also another unusual thing I've notice is many time when the furnace turns on it will have to startup twice before continuously running. Any suggestions? Do I have a sensor problem? air filters are clean
Anyone know anything about Heil Gas Furnaces?
My Heil gas furnace was placed under the house. Whenever there is too much rain, the crawl space gets damp and the furnace won't start. You can hear it try to turn on, but I don't hear the flame unit ignite and the blower doesn't turn on.So before crawling under the house and trying to open this thing up to see what's what, I'd was hoping for some input on what to look for as a cause to the problem and what solutions you'd suggest.Thank you.Boe,As soon as the crawl space becomes dry again, the furnace lights up without a problem.Thanks for your input.
