Compare furnace brands Trane versus Westinghouse?
We're trying to decide whether to spend the extra money on Trane. We've heard Westinghouse furnace and heat pumps are good quality and less expensive. Would like to get homeowners' or hvac contractors' opinions.
Anyone know which furnace brand is better? Carrier, Keeprite, or Goodman?
I'm looking for a good reliable furnace to install into my home. I originally had Carrier but it got damaged due to a burst water pipe. Should I replace it with another Carrier or go with a different company such as Keeprite or Goodman or some other?Which one is known to be good and reliable? Which one is the market leader? How do the other brands compare to the market leader?I forgot to mention that the house is around 3,600sq feet in case some furnace brands are better at certain square feet than others.What about other brands like Lennox, Trane, etc?

Is Amana (Goodman) a reputable furnace brand?
We just bought our first home knowing we had to replace the oil furnace with a gas furnace. We received five quotes two from Carrier installers and three from Amana Goodman installers. We went with a high efficiency, variable speed Amana because it was $1000 less and had the same ten year warranty as far we could tell . I've read complaints about all the furnace brands, but Goodman seems to have a particularly bad reputation. Did we screw up or does it matter? Not sure why I'm asking because it's basically too late. The installers are already working.
