Our natural gas heating bills running 450.00 plus 125.00 for the electric. NY?
1800 square foot house. Replaced furnace 4 years ago but have not serviced since it's almost new and they charge 189.00 to service. Last year Con Ed told me that they locked in the highest prices of the year. This year should have been lower. Westchester County NY home owners, please weigh in.
My gas heating bill was a bit high so I called the gas company...?
And asked why and told them I even keep the thermostat at 60F, and this schmuck I was talking to was telling me that it doesn't matter what temp you keep it at, the heat just comes on the same amount to maintain it. I told him that the company didn't train him very well. Am I right or wrong?Jay 68 72? All the therms I've seen range from 45 90F.TC hahaa, thanks my main man. I think I'd do it.Oil, thanks I thought that.

What is a high-pitched squealing sound in a natural gas heating system?
My natural gas heating system has a high pitched whine. It doesn't always do this, but it's doing it often enough to make me think about bringing in a plumber. I'm thinking it might be the circulator pump since that's about the only moving parts in the system.Any ideas? Thanks.
Electric baseboards, furnace, or gas heating?
Hi We're looking to have a home built and we need to decide if we want electric baseboard heating, or with a furnace forced air, I think it was called? , or gas. We are only familiar with baseboard heating, as that's what we have now. When I lived with my parents, we had the furnace, so I know there are filters to clean change periodically. We were told that a furnace will heat the house more quickly than baseboards. What are some good pros cons to know about each option? What kind of maintence is required for each option? Thanks Thanks One of the builders did mention that they could incorporate central AC into it as well. Sounds like they are all fairly low maintenance options Ya, tell me about it. We are in a cold region Quebec and with baseboards, our bills are about $500 in the winter. I do remember now, my parents' furnace was oil. I remember the Ultramar truck pulling up once or twice a year.
How many hours of phoenix gas heating would I get for £10?

New home with gas heating, furnace seems to make a clicking noise in some air ducts?
Am new to gas heating and have a two story house. When using the furnace, sometimes the house will have a noise that is like a clicking ticking noise and this will sound then do it again in about 1 1.5 minutes. It is only heard in parts of the house, especially in one bedroom. Any possible anwsers would be appreciated. Thanks
Halogen heaters, how much do they cost to run per day, is it cheaper than gas heating?
What could be wrong with my gas heating system?
I live in a ranch house no crawl space. The vents for heating and AC are located on the floors. Two of the bedroom vents blow out cold air while rest of house blows nice hot air. In the Summer, those same two rooms are not quite as cool as the rest of the house. I suspect a break in the venting duct system underground.I forgot to mention that my ranch house was built in 1967, but the heating unit was upgraded replaced in 2004. The original underground concrete ducts still exist.
Question about gas/heating?
does it make a difference money wise. to have the heating on all day at a warm temp so the house is staying warm. or i it better to wait till its cold and then put the heating on?
What's currently more cost effective, gas heat or electric?
What's currently more cost effective, gas heat or electric? Currently I use a gas furnace, I haven't gotten the 1st bill yet, but I am contemplating replacing it with electric due to the high cost of gas and also because I believe it is an original furnace installed during the mid 50's.
