I need answers on troubleshooting a coleman presidential 2 mobile home furnace?
The blower keeps kicking on and off even when the burner is not lit. I can set the fan to continous run for a while and then set it back to auto and it does fine for a while.
I have and oil home furnace that emits soot why?

Will our Honeywell Commercial VisionPRO TB8220U thermostat work with a gas american standard home furnace?
I can't seem to get the programming working and our contractor said that this particular thermostat would only work with electrical furnaces in a commercial setting and not a residential high efficiency gas furnace...i was told otherwise when i first bought it and was just looking for clarification.Thanks.
What is the device that has an exterior thermometer probe that attaches to a home furnace to save energy?
I recall seeing one on Ask This Old House a while back. It was a device that had on probe that led outside that used the reading from it to determine how to run the furnace more efficiently when used in sync with the home thermostat. I want to get one as it seemed to have been a good way to save energy, but, it's name escapes me now.Any info on how and where to buy one would be appreciated as well. Thanks.
My home furnace pilot light won't stay lit.?
My furnace pilot light will go on and stay lit for at least a few hours, then will go out and the furnace will start blowing cold air through the vents. I was told about a month ago that my thermostat was broken, so I replaced it about a week ago hoping that would solve the problem, it has not. I've looked at some of the other similar problems on Yahoo, but it seems my situation is a little different. My furnace has a switch like a light switch on the side to shut it off, there aren't any knobs that I'm aware of. Any suggestions?
Can you use diesel fuel in place of heating oil in a home furnace?
If you get into a pinch and run out of heating oil to heat your home, is it OK to substitute diesel fuel for a couple of days until regular fuel can be delivered? Diesel is always available at the local gas station.

i asked another similar question about space heaters used in conjunction with my furnace i am wondering how low could you set your furnace to and technically be safe w o worrying about pipes freezing? also in reality how much money a month could i save setting the thermostat back 15 degrees? substantial or minute change in savings? or would operating 2 space heaters for 8 hours a day maybe make up for me setting the heat back?basically in a nutshell typically operate furnace at 70 degrees want to drop furnace to 55 degrees 24 7 use 2 small space heaters maybe 8 a hours day in conjunction with 24 7 operation of furnace at 55 deg.or does anyone have any suggestions?I am basically trying to reduce my heating bill in winter drastically and still be comfortable in 2 rooms of the house btw I don't mind be a little cold thanks so much guys

My furnace stopped working yesterday and I m looking to replace it because it s almost 20 years old. I was looking at an American Standard Freedom 95 Gas Furnace but can find no pricing for the unit or average install costs. If you have replaced your furnace this year in New York with any 90k btu or getter unit please let me know unit install cost so I have an idea of how much money I will need to save. I'm thankful winter is mostly over but I still have a lot of cold showers in my near future.

About home furnaces. How do I know whats wrong with my heater when it calls for roll-out switches ?
OK so the circuit board has a led light that flashes 7 times, according to the messages on the board it self it means the roll out switch fault.Does that mean that I need to change the roll out switch or is it something major?I would appreciate any info anyone could share on this with me. Thank you. when I turn heater on the flame come on for 30 seconds then blower kicks on it burns for another 30 seconds and then it cuts off that's when the little red light on the board lights seven times.
