How to reset thermostat for a home gas furnace?
We turned the clocks back one hour last night. Today the furnace won't come on. Do we need to re program the thermostat? If so, how do we do that?

In a home gas furnace, can I replace a 1/8 HP motor with a 1/4 HP if all other considerations are workable?
My blower motor is going out and I cannot find an exact replacement. I have a new one that is the same frame, voltage and close RPM speed but the old one is 1 8 HP and the new one is 1 4 HP. If all else works, will the HP difference cause problems?

My landlord took the blower out and cleaned it with an air compressor and reinstalled it, but it's still very loud. Could the bearings be shot in the blower motor?

Its a mobile home built in 1984, and the furnace is a Home brand Model number AGC 80 Type A... turns out thats merged four times, from lear & siegler to miller to nordyne. its a gas furnace, and I have been unable to get the pilot lit. I've tried EVERYTHING. I really need a manual, but I'll settle for suggestions.

What is typical home gas (furnace) usage in SW Ontario home?
I have a 3 bedroom, 1150 sq ft detached house in SW ontario KW area . It is 70 years old or maybe more . My gas usage during the past winter months averaged about 275 cubic meters per month. I would like to know if this seems " reasonable" , or way out of whack. The furnace is only a few years old, and I think it is categorized as " medium efficiency" .The home inspector told me before I bought the house that the attic insultation is below the current standard R value I guess . So I'm wondering if I could see any decent savings by throwing down bunch more insulation.Thanks.Oh yeah, the place has nearly all new windows. The basement is the exception where they are old, and kinda busted up covered with plastic, duct tape,etc . The house has vinyl siding, not sure if that affects things. I think that the furnace is the only gas appliance Aug Sept this year was only 4.5 cubic meters of gas usage .Also I have a programmable thermostat, so I gain some efficiency with that by having it turn down during the day.
Help I am having trouble with my Home Gas furnace.?
I went to light the pilot and it would not stay lit. I thought it might be the thermocouple so I changed it and it still will not stay lit. I disconnected the tube that is next to the thermocouple. The one where the gas comes in to see if it was clogged. However, it was not. I know the gas is good because when I press doen the red button and try to light the pilot it stays on. However, as soon as I release the red button the pilot goes off.Not sure what could be the problem. Please help.Thanks
