What is the best outdoor wood furnace to buy?
Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much it will cost to install an outdoor wood furnace?
This is for a home with existing ductwork. The installation would basically include some excavation to bury the piping, the hook up to the existing ductwork, and all materials. I already have the price for the basic furnace. Are we talking $500 1000, or will it be a lot more than that? It will only need to be about 20 40 feet from the house. I realize that most places will give me a free estimate. I am just very curious about if I could possibly afford one right now. If the " rough" estimates I get from YA seem to be somewhat within my price range, then I will call for a true estimate.

I have a Hardy outdoor wood furnace with a 130 gal tank , I was told to put 30 % 39 gals of rv anti freeze in it in case it goes out in cold weather. it will cost around $775.00 to add it. I should be home to keep it going but what if I am gone for a few days and do not have anti freeze in it,,,Is it worth adding or not?
Installing outdoor wood furnace need help with thermostat.?
I am installing a outdoor wood furnace and I also have a heat pump I need to make it so my thermostat works as follows. my primary source of heat will be the wood furnace for this to provide heat to the house the thermostat only need to turn on the fan. Say we leave and the fire goes out then I want the heat pump to take over and provide heat to the house. The ac will work as it does now. I would like to avoid using 2 thermostats due to the fact that they would both use the same blower and that produces another problem from what i have been told.

I would like to be able to set each thermostat and have both independent. I realize cutting the 2nd one inline to the exisiting and running the original in fan only will work, but I don't want this setup.

Just wondering on how best to hook up to a forcced hot air system. Thanks OK more details We bought one and have it installed up to the point of actually connecting it our existing indoor furnace. We have propane as our main heat source right now. He was told that it was a simple set up but is hearing conflicting ways to " tap" into it. I am looking for a circulator pump for an outdoor wood furnace. Its gonna push about 100 120ft. I was told Wilo makes a good pump that has a two year warranty. I guess what i am looking for is something equivalent to a Taco 0013 but a better brand.

I'm making a water boiler for an outdoor wood furnace and I want to coat the inside of it with some kind of paint so it doesn't rust out. Anyone know of a paint that can handle temps up to 200 and prevents rust. The only thing i can think of is engine or header paint. Thanks
