My wood furnace gets too hot before the main blower turns on and the small blower doesn't work. I bought a new limit switch and I have it set at fan off at 100, fan on at 145 and limit indicator at 200 and it still gets way too hot and big fan doesn't come on. Could it be something wrong with the thermostat or what should the limit switch be set at?

Best way to stack logs in a wood furnace?
i have a wood furnace in my basement and it always seems to be tough to get the fire started but once its going its going. i use news paper mostly to try and get the logs going. i used lighter fluid a couple times and that doesnt work well. maybe of i stack the logs a certain way it will stay lit?
Why do we have high carbon monoxide levels when letting our wood furnace burn out?
We get a good fire with seasoned hardwood going in the morning about 7 00am , reduce the flue to the proper setting for our wood furnace and shut the damper in the door completely. By the time I get home from work at 5 00pm, CO levels according to our accurate detector are climbing into the 30s or 40s, even though there are still embers in the furnace. As soon as I put more firewood on and get it going again, the CO levels decrease and the detector is back to reading " 0" within 30 minutes. We had our firebox replaced since we thought there might be a hole in it, but there continues to be a problem. One of the volunteer firefighters who came out after our last scare thinks the lining in the chimney may not extend down to ground level and that's causing down drafts. We have a hybrid chimney using electric and wood heat and the previous owners had left a space in the living room for a wood fireplace to be installed. We didn't pursue that option but also don't want to spend thousands on a rehaul of our chimney if that's not the problem. The previous owners never mentioned any issues and gave us directions on how to burn which we follow implicitly.

Being on a farm I have acres of bush. I got an older Hunter wood furnace with a firebox that is approx. 3' by 3' by 18 inches. I just had a new chimney with its own flue built for it. I have a Lennox Oil furnace and a friend told me I had to route the ductwork from the oil furnace, through the wood furnace and into the main duct. That would be very inefficient when only using the oil furnace. I was wondering if it is possible to use a second fan and thermostat for the wood furnace and a flapper door and connect it to the main duct manifold style?
I have to replace my oil/wood furnace right away. Should I go with propane or oil. I live near north ontario?

Most efficient Wood Furnace?
I am searching for a wood furnace to add on to my existing home duct work. Tractor Supply sells the Hotblast brand I know nothing about how efficient they are or if there might be another brand that offers higher efficiency for similar cost $1,500 range. I need input from some who knows about wood furnaces or has owned one.
